Water, Health, and Sustainability

Love the planet

Plastic-free July is an initiative that is intended to engage people in reducing the use of single-use plastic. Staggering 50% of all plastic produced is for single-use purposes. Use for a minute and throw away. Most of the single-use plastics end up polluting our oceans, endangering the survival of many species, and spoiling the gorgeous ocean and beach views. And this problem goes much deeper… literally, plastic was found in the deepest place in the world, the Mariana Trench.

Clean Sea with Sky evening

Life on Earth started in water, and it is indispensable for our survival and health. Adequate water intake will help your body to function at its best. You will have more energy, better digestion, clearer skin. It can help even you maintain a healthy weight and can avoid headaches. Doctors and scientists can't stress enough how important water is for our health and how dangerous dehydration can be.

Can we help the environment and our health in one single action? The answer is yes! Almost all zero-waste guides will tell you to stop buying bottled water and start carrying a reusable water bottle everywhere you go. And there is a good reason why everyone is talking about this. If you haven't started this habit yet, do it now! You can have a massive impact on the environment, your health (and your wallet). Fun fact, bottled water is 2000 times more expensive than tap water (1)!

While you carry your bottle, remember to drink plenty to enjoy all the benefits of staying hydrated. There is no exact daily amount to aim for. It all depends on the individual. Remember, however, to drink more in the summer months and when you exercise.
